Baptizing Blindness

Eye look around and see it everywhere.
Such sadness, much hate,  such indifference, much grief,
Such violent discounting of precious Lifeflow,
Much ignorant blind-heartedness,  such scared-ness enraged.
Innocence and Wisdom trafficked in purpose
The pornography of conscience in slavery and sex.
Mothers and daughters, fathers and sons,
Brothers and sisters ripped from family “illegal,”
All for “protection’s” insidious race.
Radiant life is stalked and starved,
Chained and charred, raped and ruined,
Taken and tortured — Too much – Too much!!
And eye look inside and nothing eye see.
Where am “I” in all this eye?
No innocent bystander stares in the mirror.
The poverty of sight is compassion’s deep hunger.
Still it will not be quelled or quashed for “good.”
The prison of abuse drowns in its suicide.
The confinement of the selfish speaks not to the Spirit
Who receives all as given and turns inside out.
Here already, It begs no admittance!
Stifling only bursts the queer seams of Love’s holy fire.
Each hurt inflicted and received wants for release.
Every scar finds its brother, every tear holds its mother.
And we honestly ask WHO sits in the Soul?
As the vanquished self holds now a broken cup,
Water runs down and steams the flames!
