Where Stars Do Fail…

Has the earth ever made sweet love to you?
If so, how would you ever know?

Have you ever felt the seed of the wind
smear across your parched lonely skin?
Have the wet kisses of summer
assaulted your body with tremors of eros?

Have you lain in the dirt
naked and raw and
Allowed the creeping life of soil
to tease all your pores?

Has your nose been buried
in breath of blooms
So deep you feared drowning
in nectar so sweet?

Where is the Petal
of love colored so soft,
Laid out in array
of frolicking nudity?

Shall you cover yourself
or kiss open-mouthed
The sun or the moon
of a steaming hot Fire?

Where stars do fail, we swallow the light
