I AM THE TENT

There is óne thing I ásk of the Lórd, *
    for thís I lóng,
to líve in the hóuse of the Lórd, *
all the dáys of my lífe,
to sávour the swéetness of the Lórd, *
    to behóld his témple.
For thére he keeps me sáfe in his tént *
   in the dáy of évil.
He hídes me in the shélter of his tént, *
on a róck he sets me sáfe.”
What is this tent? Attached to a rock? It is a hidden place but it’s resilience is formidable! It is the sweetness of a house but as strong as an anchor! Ultimately, it is the temple! Sweet and strong. Safe and stone! It is the House of the Lord.
So, it is everywhere – we have Only to discover it and live there. No exclusions – a tent of plenty attached to the most sturdy love there is.
May we hold fast this anchor and throw its net wide to capture all that needs integrity! This is not a choice but it is a mandate! All the sorrows and sufferings are all of ours – just as all the joys and hopes are all of ours.
This is the temple where we live. Shall we see and engage?! Shall we be captured by the house of the Lord and share the longing and the savoring, which are not different?!
I seek to open my tent and spread the stones!
